The Realm of Emotion..

The realm of emotion which life tenders-
Of myriad shades, oh.. profusely copious!
Joy..pride..envy.. and a horde of other breeds,
We experience, we sense, we feel..
There’s a shimmering gleam in the eye,
Following the intangible exuberance of the heart,
The façade, scorching with spirits high.
Ah.. Heavenly bliss, at its wholesome best..
Goodness God! Wouldn’t it last an eternity?
I desire with vehemence, for “eternal bliss”;
But, hold, my friend! Let’s face it
Life aint a mind-numbing drone..
And there are agonizingly harrowing times-
Assaulted by excruciating pain, arrested by gloom;
Neither the fire to confront; nor the will to overcome..
Vexed, wrecked and vanquished, I succumb to tragedy.
Goodness God! Would it last an eternity?
I desire with vehemence, for an emphatic invalidation;
But, hold, my friend! Let’s face it
Life aint a mind-numbing drone..
Like the burst of rain for the withering crop;
Like the candle flame in ominous darkness;
There’s this prolific blaze, christened hope-
To steer my way through the corridor of glory.
Then, there’s the venomous pang of envy, creeping in;
At times, the flaring temper, at times the bouts of ego..
And a flock of other multifarious strains of emotion,
In accordance with these, my soul swings.. sways..

PS: a desperate attempt at poetry.. tried to convert a write-up which i wrote long back into rhyme.. :-)
