rang de basanti

one frame leaves you in splits. the other stirs the deepest emotions, strikes the deepest chord and urges the rusty brain to do some thinking.an expletive here, an expletive there, innovative swear words (;-p), a fantastic genre of music, (what else can be expected of the maestro, rahman?), a movie, fresh and unique, leaving you pondering , for good.
yo! rang de basanti happened just when i started believing the ideology that bollywood was going to the stray dogs! thanks to the movie, i've started believing there is still talent in the industry nad that bollywood can go beyond the oh so usual love triangles with A LOT of unwarranted exposure (commercialization, is how they call it!). oh, how many flavours have been offered by RDB? wow..
be it aamir rocking you with his wit or sidharth, with his intense potrayal, atul, almost bringing more than a tear with his sarfarosh ki tamanna, sharman joshi- ah so cute, with his "kunwara"- wit, soha and madhavan pairing up exhibitting divine, heavenly chemistry, sue, ravishing her way!:).. each one fits so beautifully in the scheme of things, outshining the other in their respective rendition of the character. mindblowing.
the style of narration- with the narration of the revolutionary struggle in sepia tone and the contemporary one, full of colour and vibrance was brilliant. and how the two, initially at stark periods of time dissolve at the end is the essence. the parallels drawn between the yester times and their present lives is unthinkable.
The ultra- modern, ‘young turks’ of the country become one in spirit with the revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves for the country’s freedom.
rang de basanti - a must watch. leaves you thinking.
