Taare Zameen Par

"Woh naach rahe hai" - Ishaan when asked to read from his text book :)
Ishaan is a dream and lives in his bubble. And, the world's his bubble. He plays with dogs bigger than him, smells the soil and gleefully catches fish from dirty waters. He also bunks classes, gets miserable grades like 2 upon 25. Painting is his natural and best form of expression. Ishaan is dyslexic. In a very materialistic and tunnel-visioned world (We are still ruled by 'Windows' and 'Gates' arent we? :| ), Ishaan's activities, pranks and his 'socially' unacceptable 'academic' grades and his extreme naughtiness- all this lands him in a boarding school. His dad thinks some orderliness would do him a world of good. And in doing so, shattered the tender kid's everything, confidence- the most important of the shattered 'everything'. The cliched ray fo hope (We cant thank Pandora enough for this :) ) enters, in the name of Nikum. He sees Ishaan, his red ink-circled pages of all his notebooks and immediately 'this kid is dyslexic' screams to him. How Nikum brings the kid out of his dark, depressed shell and letting the world and more important than any, his mom and dad know that Ishaan is an absolute delight is what the rest of the film's about.
You gush in awe at Ishaan's refreshing creativity, you laugh your hearts out at his pranks. Then you do cry. Sometimes, you reflect. At the end, there's a sense of fulfillment. And some more beyond-words emotions. It's a special movie, absolutely brilliant.
Am no movie buff and i dont, for nuts recommend any movie. But please watch Taare Zameen Par. :)
It's been almost a year since I blogged. Thanks to TZP, to have overcome my inertia :)
